Tasks are the building blocks of a project plan in Resource Planning — called Project Planning in BusyBusy.
Tasks represent individual pieces of work and allow you to define expected timelines, employee needs, equipment requirements, and optional cost codes.

Assign Employees to a Task
When creating or editing a task, you can define how many employees are needed.
You can assign employees in different ways depending on how your team plans work:
By Position – Request employees based on role
By Total Count – Request a specific number of employees
By Description – Add notes describing the type of employees needed
This information is included when the task is requested and visible during scheduling.
Assign Equipment to a Task
You can also assign equipment needed to complete a task.
Equipment can be requested by:
Equipment Category
Description
Assigned equipment is included when the task is sent to Scheduling or reviewed later.
Associate a Cost Code (Optional)
Tasks can be associated with a cost code.
When a cost code is assigned:
It is automatically applied during scheduling.
Employees clocking in from their schedule will have the cost code prefilled.
This helps ensure consistent and accurate job costing.
Save a Task as a Template
If a task is commonly used across projects, you can save it as a template.
Saving a task as a template allows you to:
Reuse the task in future project plans.
Retain duration, employee, equipment, and cost code details.
Save time when planning similar work.
Templates can be managed later under Templates.
Edit or Remove Tasks
Tasks can be updated at any time.
You can:
Edit task details.
Adjust start dates or durations.
Delete tasks that are no longer needed.
Changes made to tasks update the project plan timeline automatically.
