Where to Find the Task 3-Dot Menu
The task 3-dot menu appears next to each task in a project plan.
To access it:
Go to Scheduling → Project Planning
Open a project plan
Locate a task
Click the three dots next to the task name
The menu displays actions specific to that task.
Add Tasks Before or After
You can quickly add new tasks relative to an existing task.
From the task 3-dot menu, select:
Add task before
Add task after
This is useful when:
A task was missed during initial planning
Work needs to be inserted into an existing sequence
The new task is added directly above or below the selected task.
View or Edit a Task
To review or update task details:
Open the task 3-dot menu
Select View or Edit
From here, you can update:
Task name
Duration
Start date
Employee or equipment needs
Cost code or description
Edits update the project plan immediately.
Move Tasks Up or Down
Tasks can be reordered using the 3-dot menu.
Select:
Move up
Move down
This helps keep tasks organized when the sequence of work changes.
Reordering tasks does not automatically change task dates.
Scroll to a Task on the Timeline
For larger project plans, the Scroll to option helps you quickly locate tasks.
Selecting Scroll to jumps the timeline view directly to that task’s position.
This is especially helpful when working with long timelines or multiple task groups.
Save a Task as a Template
If a task has not already been saved as a template, you can do so from the 3-dot menu.
Select Save as template to store the task for future use.
Saved templates can be reused in other project plans and managed under Templates.
Delete a Task
Tasks that are no longer needed can be removed from a project plan.
To delete a task:
Open the task 3-dot menu
Select Delete
Deleting a task removes it from the project plan but does not affect templates or other projects.
