The View Equipment GPS permission allows positions to view GPS location data for equipment that is being tracked using BusyBusy GPS Hardware and Equipment Clock-In location.
When enabled, users assigned to the position can view both current and historical GPS locations for tracked and clocked-in equipment.
Enable the View Equipment GPS Permission
To enable the View Equipment GPS permission for a position:
Navigate to Settings.
Select Positions.
Click on the position you would like to configure.
Locate the Company Management section.
Click View Equipment GPS.
Check the View Equipment GPS box.
Click Update.
Once enabled, employees assigned to that position can view GPS location information for tracked equipment.
What Does This Permission Allow?
Users with the View Equipment GPS permission can:
View current GPS locations for tracked equipment.
View historical GPS location information.
Access GPS location data for equipment using BusyBusy GPS Hardware.
View Equipment Clock-In Location.
This permission applies to equipment that is actively being tracked with GPS Hardware as well as the equipment clock-in location.
Manage Equipment and View Equipment GPS
Positions that have the Manage Equipment permission automatically receive the View Equipment GPS permission.
Because equipment managers often need access to equipment location data, the View Equipment GPS permission cannot be disabled while the Manage Equipment permission is enabled.
If a position has Manage Equipment = Yes, then:
View Equipment GPS will automatically be enabled
View Equipment GPS cannot be turned off independently
To remove GPS viewing access, the position must first have the Manage Equipment permission removed.
