Edit or Reschedule a Safety Event in a Project Plan

Safety Events in Resource Planning can be updated as plans change. Edit details like the date or notes, or reschedule events directly from the project plan. This article explains how to edit or reschedule events and what happens if already requested.

Before You Begin

Safety Events are only available for customers using both Resource Planning and Safety (Inspections or Trainings).

Before editing a safety event:

  • The safety event must already exist in the project plan

  • You must have access to Safety Inspections and Trainings

  • Changes may affect existing requests depending on the event’s status

What Happens When You Edit a Safety Event

What happens next depends on the current status of the safety event.

If the Event Is Still in Draft

  • You can freely edit the event

  • No additional actions are required

If the Event Has Been Requested or Approved

  • Updating the event may reset the request

  • You may need to send a new request

  • Any previously assigned safety work may need to be reassigned

In some cases, you may be prompted to choose how to handle existing assignments.

Important Things to Know

  • Editing the date will reschedule the safety event

  • Changes to requested or approved events may require a new request

  • Safety events are completed and tracked in the Safety module
