Are Equipment Inspections required?
No. Equipment Inspections are not enforced.
Employees are encouraged to complete inspections, but inspections do not block clock-in, clock-out, or equipment changes. If circumstances prevent an inspection from being completed, it can be skipped.
What happens if an inspection is skipped?
If an inspection is skipped:
No inspection record is created
The inspection does not appear in Upcoming or Completed lists
No timestamp or audit entry is saved
Skipping an inspection allows work to continue without creating misleading inspection records.
What makes an inspection require resolution?
An inspection is flagged for resolution based on the overall condition selected at submission.
Inspections require resolution when the overall condition is marked:
Needs Attention
Unsatisfactory
Individual failed inspection items do not automatically require resolution unless the overall condition is set accordingly.
Do failed inspection items automatically flag an inspection?
No. Failed inspection items alone do not flag an inspection for resolution.
Inspectors can document failed items and still submit the inspection as Satisfactory if the equipment is safe to operate.
What is the difference between required items and required inspections?
Required items are individual checklist items that must be completed before an inspection can be submitted.
Inspections themselves are not required. Even if a checklist contains required items, the inspection can still be skipped if necessary.
What does a default inspector do?
A default inspector is the employee who is notified when a routine inspection created from a checklist is due.
Default inspectors receive push notifications for routine inspections
Any employee with permission to perform inspections can still complete the inspection
If no default inspector is assigned, routine inspections are created as unassigned
Who can complete equipment inspections?
Inspection access depends on how the inspection is triggered:
All employees can complete pre-operation and post-operation inspections tied to clock actions
Users with Perform Equipment Inspections permission can complete routine and ad hoc inspections
Users with Manage Equipment Inspections permission can complete, view, and resolve inspections
Can equipment inspections be resolved on mobile?
Yes. Users with Manage Equipment Inspections permission can resolve inspections on both web and mobile.
On mobile, resolution is available from the inspection’s three-dot menu after opening a completed inspection that requires resolution.
Where can I see inspection history?
Inspection history is available on both web and mobile.
On web, inspection history is available under Equipment → Inspections → Completed
On mobile, inspection history is available under Reports → Equipment Inspections → Completed
Only completed inspections appear in inspection history.
