Understand Equipment Inspection Permissions (Web)

This article goes over the different permissions you can have for Equipment Inspections and what each permission allows.

Equipment Inspections use permissions to control who can create, complete, and manage inspections. Permissions help ensure inspections are easy to complete in the field while still giving supervisors and administrators the oversight they need.

Permissions are managed by position and can be updated at any time.

Equipment Inspection permissions explained

There are two Equipment Inspection permissions available.

  • Perform Equipment Inspections

    • Allows employees to complete routine inspections and create ad hoc inspections

    • Allows inspections to be completed outside of clock-in and clock-out actions

  • Manage Equipment Inspections

    • Allows users to view inspections completed by others

    • Allows users to resolve inspections marked Needs Attention or Unsatisfactory

    • Allows users to delete inspections when needed

Important Things to Know:

  • All employees can complete pre-operation and post-operation inspections when those inspections are tied to clock-in or clock-out actions, regardless of permissions

  • Permissions do not prevent employees from clocking in or out

  • Only users with Manage Equipment Inspections permission can resolve inspections
