The California Breaks Scanner helps you catch break compliance issues before payroll, but it only activates when certain California-specific settings are enabled. This article walks you through how to turn it on and what needs to be configured for it to appear inside the Payroll Scanner.
Requirements for Activation
To enable the California Breaks Scanner, you must have at least one of the following settings enabled:
California Break Question Enabled (under Daily Sign Off)
This asks employees to confirm whether they followed California break rules.
California Overtime Rules Enabled (under Pay Period & Overtime Settings)
These rules apply California’s overtime logic to your time entries.

Once either of these settings is active, the California Breaks Scanner will automatically appear inside the Payroll Scanner when you run it. |
