Setting JSA Permissions (Mobile)

Overview

JSA permissions determine who can create, edit, and manage JSAs within your company.

Permissions can be set by an admin on both web and mobile.

How to Set Permissions on Mobile

  1. Open the Main Menu

  2. Tap Settings

  3. Tap Positions

  4. Select the position you want to update

  5. Scroll to the Safety section

Tap JSA Reports

Permission Options

Create JSA Reports

  • Allows users to:

    • Create JSAs

    • Edit their own JSAs

    • Delete their own JSAs

Manage JSAs

  • Allows users to:

    • Edit any JSA

    • Delete any JSA

    • Manage JSAs created by others

    • Add visitor signatures

Accessing JSAs (Mobile)

How to Access the JSA Library

  1. Tap Safety from the main navigation

  2. Tap the JSA icon (shield with a document at the bottom of the screen)

This is where all JSAs are stored once created.

Managing Chemicals and PPE (Mobile)

Why This Matters

Chemicals and PPE are included in JSAs and should be set up before creating reports.

How to Manage Chemicals

  1. Tap the three dots (top right)

  2. Tap Manage Chemicals

  3. Tap the + icon

  4. Enter the chemical name

  5. Tap Save

How to Manage PPE

  1. Go to Manage PPE

  2. Tap the + icon

  3. Add PPE items

  4. Tap Save

Creating a Cost Code JSA (Mobile)

Step 1: Start a New JSA

  1. Tap the + icon

  2. Ensure report type is Cost Code

  3. Select a Cost Code (required)

  4. (Optional) Assign to a Project

Step 2: Configure Review Settings

Clock-In Review (Optional)

  • Requires employees to review the JSA when clocking in
    ​​

Review Frequency

  • Default: Monthly

Determines how often employees must review

Scope to Project

  • Requires review only when both:​

    • Cost code AND

    • Project are selected

Step 3: Add Steps

  1. Tap Next

  2. Add task steps

  3. Reorder or edit as needed

  4. Tap Save

Step 4: Add Details to Each Step

  • Potential hazards

  • Preventative actions

  • Photos (optional)

Step 5: Add Precautions

  • Select Chemicals

  • Select PPE

  • Attach Training Materials (optional)

Step 6: Submit

Tap Submit Report

Your JSA will now appear in the JSA Library.

Creating a Task JSA (Mobile)

Key Difference

Task JSAs are not tied to a cost code.

Steps

  1. Tap + icon

  2. Select Task JSA

  3. Enter a Task Name

  4. (Optional) Assign to a Project

  5. (Optional) Enable Clock-In Review

  6. Add steps, hazards, PPE, and training

Editing a JSA (Mobile)

How to Edit

  1. Tap a JSA

  2. Tap the three dots

  3. Select Edit

You can update:

  • Steps

  • Details

  • Precautions
    ​​

Version History

  • BusyBusy tracks all versions of a JSA

  • Admins can view previous versions and signatures

Employees only see the latest version
