Enable PPE Scan within Photo Verification

PPE Scan uses AI during Photo Verification to check if employees are wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as face coverings and head coverings. This article explains how to enable PPE Scan in your organization and choose which PPE items to detect.

Steps to Enable PPE Scan (Web)

  1. Log in to BusyBusy on the web and click the gear icon in the bottom-left corner to open Settings.

  2. In the sidebar, go to Positions.
    ​

  3. Select the position you want to enable PPE Scan for.
    ​

  4. In the Photo Verification section, choose whether verification is based on Kiosk or Position settings.
    ​

  5. Enable PPE Scan for the desired clock actions (Clock In, Clock Out, Break Start, Break End, Switch).
    ​

  6. Select at least one PPE item to scan for:

    • Face Cover

    • Head Cover

    • Safety Vest (future release)

    • Eye Protection (future release)
      ​

  7. Click Update to save changes.

  • If you select Kiosk Only, PPE scan items cannot be configured within the position settings. Instead, you’ll need to set them up directly within the Kiosk settings.

  • Employees can still clock in/out or take breaks even if a PPE issue is detected, the system logs the discrepancy and alerts supervisors.

What Happens Next

  • Employees in the selected position will have their PPE checked during Photo Verification for the enabled actions.

  • Results will appear in the Photo Verification report with a PPE status of Passed, Failed, or N/A (not required). To learn more about viewing PPE Scan results, check out our article HERE!
