Create a Task JSA

Task JSAs are foundational for identifying and mitigating hazards associated with specific tasks. Both web and mobile platforms offer an intuitive way to create Task JSAs. Follow these steps to set up and customize a Task JSA for your team in busybusy.

Key Considerations

  • Optional Fields: Assigning a project and attaching photos, chemicals, PPE, and training materials are optional but highly encouraged to enhance the JSA.

  • Flexibility: Both web and mobile platforms allow you to edit or reorder steps and update the JSA as needed.

  • Compliance: Follow OSHA guidelines by including detailed steps, hazards, and preventive measures.

Creating a Task JSA on Web

  1. Access the JSA Reports Window:

    • Log in to busybusy on your web browser.

    • Click on Safety in the left-hand navigation menu and select JSA Reports.

  2. Start a New JSA:

    • Click the Create button.

    • Select Task JSA as the type.

  3. Name the Task JSA:

    • Enter a descriptive name for the task (e.g., "Trenching with a Backhoe").

    • Optionally, assign it to a project for easier filtering later.

  4. Outline Task Steps:

    • List the individual steps required to complete the task.

    • Use the Add Step button to include all steps now or edit/reorder them later.

    • Click Submit.

  5. Identify Hazards and Preventive Measures:

    • For each step, add potential hazards and corresponding preventive actions by clicking the plus icon.

    • Optionally, attach photos for visual clarity.

  6. Include Chemicals, PPE, and Training:

    • Add relevant chemicals and PPE items from your managed lists by clicking the plus icon in the respective section.

    • Attach applicable safety training materials. Multiple safety trainings can be attached to a single JSA.

  7. Submit the JSA:

    • Review all details to ensure accuracy.

    • Click Submit Report to save the JSA.

Creating a Task JSA on Mobile

  1. Access the JSA Reports Section:

    • Open the busybusy mobile app.

    • Tap on Safety in the main navigation menu (or under the three-dot More menu).

    • Select JSA Reports.

  2. Start a New JSA:

    • Tap the + icon to create a new JSA.

    • Select Task JSA as the type.

  3. Name the Task JSA:

    • Enter the task name and optionally assign it to a project for filtering.

  4. Outline Task Steps:

    • Tap Add Step and list each step required to complete the task.

    • Steps can be reordered or edited later.

  5. Identify Hazards and Preventive Measures:

    • Tap on each step and add hazards, preventive measures, and photos if needed.

  6. Include Chemicals, PPE, and Training:

    • Under Precautions, tap the + icon in the Chemicals or PPE sections to select relevant items.

    • Attach applicable safety training materials from the library.

  7. Submit the JSA:

    • Review the details and tap Submit Report to save the Task JSA.
