Archive & Unarchive Projects (Web)

Are you looking to clean up your project list? Ready to delete or retire your projects? By archiving instead of deleting, records remain consistent and data is retained. When a project is archived in busybusy, time can no longer be recorded to that project and will no longer be displayed as an option in the clock-in list. If at any time you wish to make a project available again, it is as simple as unarchiving the project!

Troubleshooting: Why does my project keep reverting to Archived?

If you unarchive a project but find that it automatically returns to the "Archived" list shortly after, check the following two areas:

1. Check Your Integrations (QuickBooks, Procore, etc.)

If your account is synced with external accounting or project management software, that system usually acts as the "Source of Truth."

  • The Fix: Ensure the project/job is marked as Active or Open in your integration software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Sage, or Procore). If it is "Closed" or "Inactive" there, the next sync will automatically re-archive the project in busybusy.

2. Clear Browser-Specific Cache

Sometimes your browser may be displaying an "old" version of the page. If the integration isn't the issue, try clearing the cache specifically for the busybusy domain.

  • The Fix (Chrome Users): 1. Copy and paste this link into your Chrome address bar: chrome://settings/content/all?searchSubpage=busybusy 2. Select Clear All Data. 3. Refresh your busybusy tab and try unarchiving the project again.
