Troubleshooting: Performance, Notifications, and Syncing Issues

Follow these steps to resolve common issues with notifications, automatic breaks, or app performance.

Troubleshooting the busybusy App

1. Check for Updates

Ensure you are running the latest version of the app to access the most recent bug fixes and features.

  • How to check: In the busybusy app, go to Settings > About (or Settings > More > Minimum App Version).

  • If an update is available, visit the App Store or Google Play Store to download the latest version.

2. Refresh Your Account

Sometimes a simple refresh of your session resolves syncing or display errors.

  • Log Out/In: Log completely out of the app and then log back in.

  • Notification Settings: While logged in, verify your device's system settings to ensure notifications for busybusy are enabled. Also, check the App Settings to ensure "Break Notifications" are toggled on.

3. Hard Close the App

Force-stopping the app clears temporary glitches without deleting your data.

  • iOS: Swipe up from the bottom (or double-click the Home button), find the busybusy preview, and swipe it up to close.

  • Android: Go to Settings > Apps > busybusy > Force Stop.

4. Clear App Data & Sync (Debug Tools)

If your time is not syncing or the app feels "stuck," you may need to clear the local database.

  • The Process: Go to Settings > Debug Tools > Local Data to Sync (or Pending Syncs).

  • If there is data waiting to sync, select Upload Database.

  • Once uploaded, click Clear Database to refresh the local storage.

5. Advanced Steps

If the issue persists:

  • Reinstall: Uninstall the app from your device and perform a fresh installation from your app store.

  • Identify Patterns: Note if the issue happens at a specific time or only to specific team members. This information is vital if you need to Contact Support.
