Selecting or Editing Equipment Type (Web & Mobile)

When adding new equipment in BusyBusy, you now have the option to select an Equipment Type to improve tracking and organization. This article covers how to choose an equipment type when creating new equipment, as well as how to edit the equipment type for existing equipment (Web only).

Equipment Type Options

When adding new equipment, you must select one of three equipment types:

  • Equipment – Large machines or vehicles that typically require an operator. This is the only type with hour meter support.

  • Tools – Medium to small items.

  • Attachments – Items that are tracked as add-ons and are dependent on other tools or equipment.

Selecting an Equipment Type When Creating Equipment

On Web

  1. Navigate to Management Lists from the main menu.

  2. Click on Equipment.

  3. Click Create to add a new equipment item.

  4. Enter the equipment name.

  5. In the Type dropdown, select one of the following:

    • Equipment

    • Tools

    • Attachments

  6. Complete the remaining fields as needed.

  7. Click Create to save the new equipment item.

On Mobile (iOS & Android)

  1. Navigate to Equipment from the main menu.

  2. Tap the + (plus) button to create a new equipment item.

  3. Select the Equipment Type:

    • Equipment

    • Tools

    • Attachments

  4. Enter the equipment name.

  5. Complete the remaining fields as needed.

  6. Tap Done to finalize the new equipment item.

Editing an Existing Equipment Type

On Web

  1. Navigate to Management List in the main menu.

  2. Click Equipment.

  3. Select the Equipment you want to update.

  4. Click the Type field and choose the desired type (Equipment, Tools, or Attachments).

  5. Click Save to apply the changes.

On Mobile

  • Editing an equipment type is not available on mobile. Please follow the steps above to update an equipment type on Web.

  • The selected equipment type determines tracking capabilities. Only Equipment supports hour meters.

  • Attachments must be assigned to another piece of equipment or a tool.

  • You cannot edit an existing equipment type on mobile—this action must be performed on Web.
